WA: Woman prisoner found hanging in cell

PERTH, Aug 28 AAP - A 25-year-old Aboriginal prisoner has been found hanging in a cell
at Bandyup women's prison, the first apparent suicide in the jail's 30-year history.

The medium-security inmate, serving an 18-month sentence, was found by officers at
1.30pm (WST) yesterday, the Ministry of Justice said today.

She could not be revived.

Investigations into her death were underway.
