GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- ACE*COMM Corporation (Nasdaq: ACEC) announced that its Enterprise Business Unit has received an order from the State of Iowa Telecommunications and Technology Commission, which operates the Iowa Communications Network (ICN), to provide implementation and integration of a new billing system using ACE*COMM's NetPlus(R) program suite. The ICN selected NetPlus to enhance billing for PBX and common carrier transactions, trouble ticket management and delivery of service requests for PBX transactions.
The ICN began design and development of its existing billing system in 1995, using a mainframe to process call record accounting and bills. This mainframe implementation has been modified in recent years to recognize recurring monthly billings for both dedicated and virtual circuits. ICN bill processing in the mainframe environment requires a great deal of manual intervention. Because of this, the ICN has tried to port some of the systems to a PC-based environment, with mixed success, leading the ICN to turn to ACE*COMM's NetPlus program suite. The NetPlus solution enables the ICN to fulfill its goals of promoting greater customer understanding of their PBX and common carrier services, providing continuous customer-based satisfaction and eliminating duplication of effort in network management. NetPlus accomplishes this by combining the Work Order, Facilities Management and Billing modules with the power of an NT server providing comprehensive voice and data management, account management, toll services, unified billing and data warehousing.
